Capital

“Capital” is the second single and second track from the EP Listen

Story

I came up with the chord progression for this and really liked the chunkiness and the big slide. The main idea for the lyric came pretty quickly. This isn’t the first song I wrote about not liking and or not wanting to see someone. I think I got that from “Leave Me Alone” by New Order. That was probably the first time I really realized that relationship songs don’t always have to be about how much you like or love someone, they can also be about not liking someone and not wanting to see them.

Lyrics

I just want to even the score

Every time you knock on my door

I don’t want to see you anymore

NO! NO! NO! NO!

NO! NO! NO! NO!

Every time I ask you what’s for

When I’m answering the door

I don’t want to see you anymore

NO! NO! NO! NO!

NO! NO! NO! NO!

I just want you to leave me alone

Still you call me on the phone

I don’t want to see you anymore

NO! NO! NO! NO!

NO! NO! NO! NO!

How many times do I have to say

I just want you to go away

I don’t want to see you anymore

NO! NO! NO! NO!

NO! NO! NO! NO!

Do you realize it’s true

How many times should I say it to you

I don’t want to see you anymore

NO! NO! NO! NO!

NO! NO! NO! NO!

NO! NO! NO! NO!

NO! NO! NO! NO!

I just want to even the score

I just want to even the score

I just want to even the score

I just want to even the score

I just want to even the score

I just want to even the score

NO!

I just want to even the score  (NO! NO! NO!)

NO!

I just want to even the score  (NO! NO! NO!)

NO!
